We are a small organization formed by a multicultural team, with the same objective: to learn by adding experiences, sharing knowledge and working together, while we contribute our grain of sand in local communities through our training, community development and cooperation projects.
Bokk Boolo means "participate and contribute" in Wolof, the most widely spoken language in Senegal. We are the result of an idea that was born eight years ago with a dream: that young people, women and families can grow and develop in their own country, without being forced to migrate.
We believe in the power of education, training and networking. Together, we promote projects that are born from the real needs of the community and that are committed to dignity, equality and respect.
Our vision transcends borders: improving the educational environment and learning opportunities of all the communities we collaborate with, strengthening the values of equality, fellowship, respect and tolerance.
Our Vision

Our mission is to create strong and independent communities, through education for development, capable of building their own future.
Our Mission

I'm Yolanda,
The founder of this beautiful project, which I am passionate about and was born from the heart.
Let me tell you a little about myself: I grew up in several countries, which taught me to adapt to practically any environment and circumstance. From a very young age, I have felt a vocation for the world of cooperation and solidarity; however, I developed my professional career in a multinational environment in marketing departments in Spain and England.
After 30 years in the private business world, I decided it was time to dedicate myself to what I really like: Cooperation. And I found a mentor, the NGO Coopera, which offered me the opportunity to enter this wonderful world from where I can contribute my grain of sand to the third sector and be part of social change.

The Idea
In 2014, my first contact with Senegal inspired a vision: to create a different kind of solidarity trip. Not just a vacation, but "experiences that leave a mark". A camp where work, culture and fun would come together, revealing new personal facets and forging bonds of cooperation. This trip would mark a before and after.

The Seed
In 2015, with family support, this adventure began. A small group focused on Coopera projects in Senegal. The result was incredible: the local people pushed us to create the solidarity camp, allowing us to expand our work with their invaluable support.

The Harvest
After 9 years, our results are remarkable: 147 European participants, more than 300 direct local beneficiaries, 25 schools and 65 classrooms restored, and more than 20 jobs generated each summer.
Bokk Boolo has grown and strengthened, transforming into an Association. We are a multicultural team, united by the love for this project that was born as an idea in 2014. From here and from Senegal, we share the same spirit of collaborating, participating and contributing, forming a large family: the Bokk Boolo family, where each person is vital.
Testimonials
We were in M'Bour in June '23 as a family with a group of friends (and the new ones we made there) and we loved the experience. You get to know another country, its customs, you collaborate painting their schools together with the locals and you have fun with them!! Everything is organized.

Testimonials
We went as a whole family, including our teenage children and it was a unique experience. We will never forget it. My children enjoyed it very much and from time to time we get memories of that trip. The organization was fantastic, we were able to learn about the reality of Senegal, help as much as possible, and enjoy immensely with all the people there. We felt welcomed by those wonderful people and very well cared for by the NGO. We helped in the rehabilitation of 2 schools, we did camps with the children in the afternoons, and in addition, we had time to visit a more distant village and an orphanage. Without a doubt, an experience to remember for a lifetime ❤️

Testimonials
One of the experiences that taught me the most in my life. After attending 5 editions of the camp, I am considering coming back again this year. Yolanda is a great professional and she operates in the field like a local. In Saly Velingara and Mbour (main areas of action of the camp) she is known as "Mama Yolanda" and it is incredible to see the affection and respect that people have towards her. Definitely the ideal experience to get to know the world of cooperation at any age.

I was at the camp in 2017 with my niece and it was an unforgettable experience for both of us. Totally recommendable for everything: the organization of the camp, the country, the people we met, the activities we did and the tourism we did. Also, for young people, it is a great experience to share their experience with young people from the country.
